Liz MacKay
Deputy Head of College
Liz joined Wootton Upper School in July 2006 as a Teacher of Mathematics after the completion of a mathematics PhD whilst undertaking a graduate teaching assistant role at university. A passion for exemplary teaching for all students has been evident from the beginning through joint leadership of a local Thinking Maths Group and Maths subject lead with our local Initial Teacher Training provider. Completion of the National Fast Track Leadership Programme supported development into a strategic leadership role as Assistant Headteacher with a focus on assessment, naturally encompassing elements of teaching and learning which led to this current position of Deputy Head of Kimberley College.
A firm believer in inclusive education where every student can thrive and achieve their potential through a quality learning experience. Leading through evidence-based research is at the heart of all we do to deliver a great sixth form experience for our students as we collectively aim to raise the academic standards further within our vibrant community.
Outside of work there’s a great interest in the world around us, which is explored through walks and golf, alongside hobbies of running, pilates, crocheting and relaxing playing the piano.
